Rack and Pinion Transmission
Rack and pinion drives are commonly used in conveying and motion control applications, such as airport baggage conveyor belts, elevators, and boarding bridges. Rack and pinion systems are able to convert rotary motion into linear motion, which allows objects to be moved and positioned. Rack and pinion systems are also often used for translation and positioning functions, such as the worktable movement mechanisms on milling machines, gear cutting machines, and machine tools. In addition, rack and pinion systems have a wide range of applications in the automotive industry, such as in the steering system for steering mechanisms.
